UPDATES ON TEACHING AND LEARNING

 

On 8th July 2020, the YB Minister of Higher Education has announced that students in Higher Education Institutions will be allowed to return to campus in stages.

Following the Ministry of Higher Education Guidelines, Nilai University has decided on the following:

 

1.      Return to Campus

 

Students with courses that requires practical/ lab work / clinical and/or coursework requiring specific equipment will be allowed to return to campus on 3rd August 2020.

              

Your School/Department will identify the courses that require facilities. You will be required to come to campus only for these identified courses. All other courses will be delivered online.

 

The students who are required to return to campus will receive an approval letter via the student’s university email latest by 20th July 2020.

Students who are not registered for courses that requires practical/ lab work / clinical and/or coursework requiring specific equipment will continue with online classes.

 

2.      June 2020 Semester Examination

The final examinations will be conducted by the “Take Home Exam” method for ALL students. Examination Period remains unchanged: 21 September – 2 October 2020.

 

3.      October Semester

As of to date, the Ministry of Higher Education has agreed to allow all students to return to campus in October 2020.

 

Hence, all students will be allowed to return to campus for face-to-face lessons on 19th October 2020 as scheduled in the University’s Academic Calendar.

 

International students who will be returning to Malaysia will need to undergo 14-days quarantine before being allowed to attend lessons. Please contact the international office at nu_io@nilai.edu.my for information on the return process.

 

This announcement is based on the current guidelines and will be subject to changes received from the Ministry of Higher Education.
